Getting involved

Getting involved within the community

We provide homes and services for many different groups of people of all ages. You have a right to be involved in decisions that affect where you live and the services you receive. We encourage all our customers to be involved whether you rent, are a leaseholder or a shared owner. We want to hear from you.

There are lots of ways for you to get involved. Read on to find out more.

Become a Customer Voice Volunteer

We're recruiting for volunteers to join our Customer Voice Group. As part of the group, you will review service, work with like-minded people and make a real difference in your communities.

What's involved?

  • You will need to come to about six meetings and three training sessions a year
  • Before each meeting, you will need to do about three to four hours' preparation at home
  • We will reimburse any out of pocket expenses such as travel costs.

Become a Customer Champion

Our Customer Champions Programme helps monitor the standard of the grounds maintenance and communal cleaning services.

Our Customer Champions are our 'eyes and ears' and carry out regular inspections both in their own neighbourhoods and in other areas.

What's involved?

  • You will need to commit to a minimum of two hours a month
  • You will join our existing group of Customer Champions
  • We will reimburse any out of pocket expenses such as travel costs.

Become a Youth Work Volunteer

We need both adult and younger volunteers to help us deliver great youth and community activities, including our weekly Next Generation Youth Clubs.

What's involved?

  • We are looking for volunteers in Houghton Regis, Luton, Bushey, Leighton Buzzard and Hoddesdon
  • You will receive comprehesive training which takes about three months to complete
  • You will receive support from our award-winning Community Involvement Team
  • You will need to provide references and we will arrange for an enhanced DBS check to be carried out
  • We will reimburse any out of pocket expenses such as travel costs

Getting involved and volunteering is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills and make a real difference to where you live. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please email our Community Involvement Team or call 0300 500 6262.

Summer programme 2019

This summer we have planned a range of fantastic events for the local community, which we hope will encourage our residents and young people to get to know each other and get involved in our community events and trips. The summer programme is a great way for us to engage with our customers and offer something back to the community.

For more information on any of our summer activities, please view the  Aldwyck Summer Programme 2019.pdf[pdf] 649KB  or contact the Community Involvement Team.
