Young Tenant of the Year Award

Young Tenant of the Year Award

Aldwyck Housing Group is delighted that resident Kevin Williams has been shortlisted for the TPAS Young Tenant of the Year Award.

Kevin was nominated by Aldwyck for the amazing commitment he has made to his local community in Luton over the past year. Not only does he facilitate a weekly youth club at the Hilltop Court Community Room which has been attended by over 125 young people but he has assisted at youth football sessions, adult employment programmes and has encouraged other adults and young people to get involved in making their community a better place to live.

Kevin has invested his time to train and develop his skills, supporting him in continuing to have a positive impact on his community. He has also recently joined Aldwyck’s Customer Scrutiny Panel where he will champion involvement and the need to support and develop actively engaged communities.

Carol Hall, Executive Director of Housing and Customer Services at Aldwyck Housing Group said; “Without his time and commitment our hugely successful project at Hilltop Court would have closed and the community would have missed out on the positive impacts and opportunities it provided.

“Kevin has built excellent positive relationships with young people at the youth club and is respected by the group. It’s fantastic to see the effort he has made recognised by these awards.”

The sixth annual TPAS Awards will celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations from Northern, Central and Southern England, who have made a significant impact on their communities.

TPAS Chief Executive, Michelle Reid, explains, “TPAS is passionate about connecting people to achieve great communities. In this era of co-regulation it is vital that tenants and landlords work together to achieve and sustain positive change and impact on their communities. The judges have been inspired by the number of exceptional projects and initiatives across Central England which have been catalysts for delivering real change.”
