Aldwyck to build over 100 affordable homes in Dunstable
Houghton Regis based Aldwyck Housing Group is building two new developments to provide 116 affordable homes within walking distance of the town centre.
Tavistock Place and Brewers Hill will respectively provide 55 and 61 new homes with a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership. Tavistock Place will provide 22 houses and 33 apartments, and Brewers Hill will provide 38 houses and 23 apartments.
The show home for Tavistock Place, located just off High Street North, opens in July 2019, when the 44 two and three-bedroom homes will be available to buy off plan.
The Brewers Hill development is expected to complete in early 2021 and will provide 43 homes available for shared ownership and 18 for affordable rent. The scheme will also include generous parking provision, landscaped areas and has been designed to be accessible for both pedestrians and cyclists.
Housing association Aldwyck merged last month with Ealing-based Catalyst Housing. The new organisation will own and manage 32,000 homes in the South East, and has plans to deliver up to 1,300 homes a year by 2022 with a strategic focus on the Oxford-Cambridge Arc.
