We’re supporting Starts at Home Day
Starts at Home Day is the National Housing Federation’s twice-yearly focus on Supported Housing. It’s when housing associations up and down the country celebrate Supported Housing and the positive impact it makes. The campaign helps to raise the profile of what Supported Housing does and helps keep funding for the service in the housing benefit system.
Supported Housing helps hundreds of thousands of people across the UK to regain their independence and confidence and to live secure lives. That’s why we too are backing the Starts at Home campaign.
Aldwyck’s Supported Housing service
Aldwyck works in partnership with councils and other organisations to provide a Supported Housing service to over 600 people across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Our service provides homes and support to local people experiencing mental ill-health, physical or learning disabilities. We help them to live independent and fulfilling lives – and that starts at home.
We also provide floating support – a service that helps people in their own homes to manage their home and money, stay safe and secure in their home, manage their health and lifestyle, go to work or college, liaise with agencies, enjoy their spare time and achieve their life choices.
Our award-winning team!
Last month, our Supported Housing team were ‘Highly Commended’ winners in the national Housing Heroes ‘Frontline team of the year’ award’. Find out more here and on pages 20 and 21 of the latest issue of Aldwyck Life.
